The Academy

The Classical Herbalist currently provides weekly classes on the Shang Han Lun 傷寒論 for dedicated Chinese medicine students and practitioners who wish to supplement their tertiary learning. We strongly believe that competent Eastern medicine practitioners need to have a thorough understanding of both the Shang Han Lun 傷寒論 and the Jin Gui Yao Lue 金匮要略. It has become commonplace that Eastern medical laws and principles in these foundational texts are constantly violated with the parochial view of modern TCM. As such, these classes are provided to help create genuine herbalists by covering topics such as interpretation, philosophy, critical analysis of commentary and clinical application of the classical texts.

Class fees are currently $50 per week for one class per week. The fee includes translated class material and access to medicines at the The Classical Herbalist. Classes are delivered in English and Chinese. Classes are conducted online through Zoom. Classes are also recorded to watch in your own time if you cannot make the classes.
